The Urea test checks the amount of urea in the blood, a waste product formed when the body breaks down proteins. Healthy kidneys filter urea out of the blood and excrete it in urine. Elevated or low urea levels may indicate kidney dysfunction, dehydration, liver disease, or abnormal protein intake.
